I made this keyer for my own use when I found my old paddle from 30 years ago. It interfaces to a standard PC PS2 keyboard.

Below is the prototype in a small case. The LCD can be bought for around $12. Apart from the PIC Micro the only components are a
crystal, a few resistors, caps, two transistors and a couple of switches. If you don't plan to use it without the keyboard then you don’t
need the switches.

If a few people are interested I may see about getting some PCB’s made but for now I have a
board layout, PCB mask and a circuit if anyone is interested in making one.

The unit has a 100 char buffer for the keyboard. Any buffered chars or prerecorded message
can be interrupted by pressing the ESC key or by touching the paddle. You can start a
prerecorded message and immediately start typing to continue on from the message end.

I would love feedback from a serious CW ham and a wish list for changes and features that
he/she would like and I will try to make the changes and improve the unit.

Runs off 9 to 14 volts DC.

Displays the speed and text sent form the keyboard on the LCD.

Adjustable speed from 10wpm to 50wpm via the keyboard. 11 preset
memories available from the keyboard.

Help displayed on the LCD.
All settings are changed and saved from the keyboard.

If needed, four preset memories can be recalled by push buttons on the
unit and the speed can be changed by two extra Up-Down buttons.
